What are stock tokens on Robinhood Chain?

by Ali Tiknazoglu · updated oct 10, 2026

A stock token is an ERC-20 token on Robinhood Chain that tracks the price of a real company's shares. Robinhood issues it. Each token stands for a set number of shares - its multiplier - which moves with dividends and splits, so a token's price is the share's price times the multiplier. Tesla is TSLA, NVIDIA is NVDA and Apple is AAPL.

Robinhood Chain

Robinhood Chain is Robinhood's own network: an Ethereum-compatible layer 2 built on Arbitrum. Gas is paid in ETH and the main dollar is USDG, a stablecoin issued by Paxos. Any wallet that can add a network can use it.

How to get one

Every stock token in the Gifted Stock boxes has its own page with its live price and contract: stock tokens on Robinhood Chain. The Base counterpart: what is a tokenized stock on Base.

Questions

Who issues stock tokens?

Robinhood. Every real stock token is a proxy of one Robinhood contract and Robinhood publishes the list. A token with the same ticker at an address Robinhood does not list is not a stock token.

Why is a stock token's price not the share's price?

Because of the multiplier: a token stands for a set number of shares, which moves with dividends and splits. Its price is the share's price times the multiplier.

Is a stock token the same as owning the share?

It tracks the share's price. Robinhood's terms say what a token gives you and who may hold one.

Can I move a stock token to Base?

No. A stock token on Robinhood Chain and a tokenized stock on Base are different tokens, even for the same company. To switch, sell one and buy the other.

Can I hold stock tokens in the US?

No. Robinhood does not offer stock tokens to US persons and they are not available everywhere else either.
